Club MissionThe Burlington Obedience Training Club is the only AKC-licensed
obedience club
We promote the training of pure-bred dogs. We hold and support obedience trials, agility trials, tracking tests, exhibitions, and matches under the rules and regulations of the American Kennel Club. We strive to promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among our members as well as the public in the training and exhibition of dogs.
BOTC
believes that the future of all dog sports rests with our youth.
To that end, we sponsor a youth scholarship for a young person who
is interested in pursuing dog training with his or her dog Club ProfileThe Burlington Obedience Training
Club recognizes that there are as many training styles as there are people
and dogs. Through the
Club’s affiliation with the AKC, we assume a responsibility to follow
AKC guidelines on the care and treatment of dogs at all functions that the
club sponsors. Above and
beyond these basic guidelines, the club has chosen to align itself on the
positive side of the training spectrum.
Constant corrections or harsh corrections are not tolerated at any
BOTC function.
